LAN Airlines is the renowned and the largest airline of South America

The full business name of the airline is LAN Airlines S.A. It was established in the year1929 in Santiago, Chile. The business of the airline is growing rapidly and it is getting the attention of many customers on its routes. It is also counted as the most successful and the busiest airline of the region. The airline is always busy in accommodating the needs of the customers and makes every endeavor to provide an excellent journey. It is the oldest airline company in the region and has a work experience of many years on its credit. The airline lands on 40 important destinations which includes domestic as well as places regional and international destinations across the world. Outside Chile, it offers regular flights in Latin America, Canada, United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, Oceania, and Europe. LAN Airlines is also popular for its low-airfares. With this characteristic, it attracts a great number of passengers to its planes. In spite of its low-airfares, LAN Airline offers the best facilities and entertainment on board for its passengers.

The strength of LAN Airlines’ fleet is 66 planes, at present. These planes are of different types and not older than almost 8 years. As the airline’s fundamental policy, all the old planes are grounded from the fleet. Thus, the planes of LAN Airlines always give a fresh look. In the backdrop of its successes, the airline has expansion planes of its business to many global destinations. For the purpose, the airline has also ordered for new planes to be included in its fleet to enable it to have an access to many more destinations around the world. Presently, the airline has two Airbuses A318-100 which are used on domestic routes. LAN Airlines has also ordered for 20 more A318-100 airbuses. They will join its fleet in 2007-2008. LAN Airlines has also fifteen A319-100 airbuses and ten more airbuses will be added up to 2007. These planes will be used to access the Medium haul routes. On long haul routes, the airline uses its A340-300 Airbuses. The other planes in the fleet of LAN Airlines are Boeing 737-200, Boeing 767-300ER, and Boeing 777-200F. LAN Airlines has ordered 89 new planes for its fleet. The addition of the new planes will complete in 2009 and will double the strength of the airline.
