Condor Airlines is popular for its leisure flights

A condor airline was established in 1955. The foundation partners were four in number. It was a humble beginning as the company had only three aircrafts of moderate capacity. Soon after the commencement of business, one of the partner company Deutsche Lufthansa AG bought almost 95% shares of Condor Airlines. The new set up also gave new name to the airline i.e. Condor Flugdienst GmbH. With regard to its business share in the market, Condor Flugdienst GmbH is a successful company. It has increased its profit graph with every passing year. In 1962, the airline held 63.3 % share of the tourist market. In the same year, the airline provided the air travel service to almost 32,000 passengers across the world. In 1973, Condor airline was rated as the world’s leading holiday airline whose annual was almost 300 million Deutschmarks. The airline had already increased the number of its planes to 14, namely Boeing 747, Boeing 707 and Boeing 727that are thought the world-celebrated planes used by any passenger airline of the world.  In 1989, Condor Airlines initiated a joint venture with Turkish Airlines, called Sun Express airline. In the same year Condor Airlines bought Südflug GmbH and merged it in the already existing set up of the airline. It worked as a subsidiary but in 1992 integrated into the parent company.  

Condor Airlines has a long tradition of promoting tourism in the world. This tendency of the airline can be observed by the introduction of many world-known holiday resorts to its network of destinations every year. From its very beginning, Condor Airlines has been announcing special tourist packages with multiple facilities and perks on board. The airline also offers various kinds of reservations and booking prior travelling for the resorts. It includes hotel booking, car rental etc. There are special offers as well which make it possible to travel to far off tourist resorts for the people who do not afford to spend huge sums of money to materialize their dreams of recreational tours. Condor airline is the first airline company of the world to introduce a separate, more comfortable class into its aircrafts. Such additions exhibit the company’s primal concerns with providing maximum comforts to its worthy clients. Condor has always been bent upon introducing novel facilities in the world of air travel. Hence the ratio of passengers has constantly been adding up with Condor. 

Thailand, Sri Lanka, Kenya and the Dominican Republic were added to the destination network of Condor Airlines in 1966. In 1971, the airline was the first airline company of the world to Boeing 747, the “Jumbo” for its leisure trips. In the year 2006, Condor completed half century of its professional career and celebrated its 50th Birthday. It was a big extravaganza highlighting the various stages of the history of the airline. The 50th anniversary message to the world was a declaration of love by Condor. Another message was that written on the tails of the planes was ‘Lager-than-life fly’. The airfares charged by Condor Airline are highly competitive with all other airlines of the same scale and structure.
