ATA Airlines is a professional sound and reliable airline of the United States

ATA Airlines, at the beginning of its career, was known as American Trans Air. It commenced its career in 1973 and falls in the category of airline companies which concentrate on moderate airfares for their passengers. It is owned by its parent company, called Global Aero Logistics, Inc. The name has recently been changed. Formerly it was called with a different name. ATA Airline operates from its hub at Chicago Midway Airport, United States of America. The focus cities of the airline are Honolulu International Airport and Oakland International Airport. The head office of the airline is situated at Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. ATA Airlines uses an expressive slogan ‘Go Easy. Go ATA’. The slogan highlights the objectives of the airline which aims at providing maximum facilities to its customers on board as well as on ground. A comfortable and a secured journey against reasonable economical and affordable airfares has always been an objective of ATA Airlines.

The main occupation of the airline is its scheduled and charter flights. ATA Airline offers commercial and scheduled flights for the US mainland and Hawaii. It operates charter flights all around the world. Another occupation of the airline is its special charter flights for transporting army cargo and personnel across the world. At the very outset, the airline restricted its professional activities only to providing planes to a recreational tour club named as ‘the Ambassadair travel club’. ATA Airlines got its professional license as an independent airline in 1981. The same year ATA Airlines started it passenger flights. It commenced its scheduled service flights in 1986 mainly within the state of Indiana, USA. Later on, some destinations such as Fort Myers and Florida were also added in the network. ATA Airlines succeeded to its present state with a gradual pace. In the year 1990, the airline initiated its flight operations for New York, Kennedy, Belfast, Riga and Latvia and achieved the title of an international airline company. 

The fleet size of ATA Airlines consists of 29 planes. Though it may be a small number of planes on the part of an airline company, yet it is quite sufficient to cover up a network of 16 destinations of ATA Airlines. As its fundamental policy, ATA Airline keeps new and the latest planes in its fleet. At present the airline’s fleet has Boeing 737-300, Boeing 737-300, Boeing 737-800, Boeing 757-200 and Boeing 757-300. The airline also retires all the worn-out and old planes from its fleet. For an instance, the recently grounded planes are Saab 340B, BAe Jetstream 31, Boeing 727-200 and Boeing 737-800.

ATA Airlines also served the American forces on their mission in Gulf War in the year 1991. It engaged its 494 flights for the transportation of logistics to their destinations in the Gulf territory. Mostly, the Boeing planes were used by the airline to accomplish this task. Thus, as an airline company, ATA Airlines has a solid background and enjoys the reputation of a reliable airline company of the Unite States. It has also the confidence of the American paramilitary forces which engaged it in their mission, time and again.
