America West Airlines has no more its individual identity as an airline after the career of 24 years

America West Airlines started its professional career in the year 1981 as an eminent airline company of the United States of America. But in 2007, the airlines ceased operating as an independent airline and merged into a larger and outstanding airline company of the United States of America, called US Airways Group. This merger ended the identity of America West Airlines and it is no more exists. All the holdings of America West Airline is now the property of US Airways. During its active professional career, America West Airlines used Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and McCarran International Airport as its main stations. America West Airlines had an outstanding career and was rated as one of the larger airline companies of America. It had a fleet of 145 planes. America West Airlines had maintenance facilities for its planes at Phoenix – the United States of America. With the strength of its fleet; the airline was able to land at many domestic, regional and international airports of the world. The total number of the destinations in its network was 95 which were enough to highlight the occupation of the airline as a successful airline company. It operated under control of its parent company, America West Holdings and had headquarters at Tempe, Arizona – the United States.

Like any other international airline, America West Airlines also had humble beginnings. At the very outset of its existence, America West Airlines had three Boeing 737 planes. The airline provided the facility of buying tickets of the planes on board. The earliest flights were meant for domestic destinations only. But soon after this beginning, the airline climbed the ladder of success. It expanded the network of its destinations to 13 more places. To access the new destinations, the airline also added eleven more planes to its fleet. All of them were Boeing 737s. After the active business occupation of almost 22 years, America West Airlines announced it merger into a big airline group. The merger took almost two years and finally in 2007, America West Airlines vanished from the list of airline companies.

America West Airlines was a famous airline among the domestic and regional travelers.
