Air France is known as the few largest airline companies of the world

Air France is regarded as one of the most prominent airlines of the world. It is among those few airlines of the world, which are known on account of their huge structure. It is operated from Charles de Gaulle Airport Paris, France. The sub-offices of the airline are situated at Paris Orly Airport, Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport and Nice Côte d'Azur Airport. It was called Société Air France in the past and operated independently. Before its merger in KLM Group, it was one of the main airline companies of France and carried the French national flag as its emblem. At present, Air France is the subsidiary of world-known group of airlines called Air France-KLM Group. The airline remains the first choice of international air travelers. It provided air travel service to almost 43.3 million passengers round the globe within one year only i.e. from 2001 to 2002. With its widespread network of destinations and colossal structure, the airline’s annul revenue is constantly increasing.  It was € 12.53 billion in the fiscal year of 2001-2002.  According to the survey conducted in 2004, Air France was rated as the largest airline of the world with regard to its revenue. The airline has 25% share of the market business.   

Air France also enjoys some unprecedented features as an airline company which have not been equaled by any other airline company of the world. The introduction of supersonic transport (SST) service with Concorde aircrafts was the marvellous feature of Air France in 1976. The flight route was from Paris Charles de Gaulle to New York JFK and later on to Washington D.C. The Concorde aircraft flew with an amazing speed almost twice the speed of sound. The total air travel time was only three hours and 23 minutes. Air France is also an eminent cargo transportation airline rated as number three after FedEx and UPS. Safety of its passengers is the prime motive of Air France. It has equipped its planes with the latest paraphernalia of security equipments. The result is that the airline enjoys the confidence of its clients all over the world. Moreover, the airline is an accredited airline of IATA. It has also the clearance certification of IOSA (IATA Operations Safety Audit) with regards to its safety arrangements.
